AN INVITATION

4-H Clover Map Pin

Youth development remains a vital component for individuals and their personal success. 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, reinforces this through a variety of programs and activities with a common goal in mind — to empower youth with the skills to lead our communities, our state, our nation and our world.

Alabama 4-H is privileged to deliver hands-on learning activities that expose youth to endless opportunities. The growth of Alabama 4-H during the past six years is a reflection of our commitment to empowering youth. During the last two fiscal years, participation in Alabama 4-H programs has grown by 16 percent. In 2016, more than 184,000 youth participated in 4-H programs and activities, with more than 46,000 active club members. Although this growth is exciting, with it comes challenges we must address now to remain accountable to our participants, donors and partners.

We have launched The Center of it All: A Capital Campaign by the Alabama 4-H Foundation

Because of your vested interest in Alabama 4-H and the people we serve, we ask that you consider a leadership gift divided in equal amounts over a three-year pledge period in support of the campaign.

On behalf of all the lives that will be touched from your generosity for many years to come, we thank you in advance for your consideration.

“I am proud to support Alabama 4-H and its commitment to empower youth with the skills to lead our communities, our state, our nation and our world.” -Eddie Tullis, The Center of it All, Co-Chair

“4-H helps develop young people who are going to be leaders and determine the success of their county, state, country, and in some cases, the world. 4-H leaders see great potential in them and motivate
them to develop that potential.”
- the late Boyd Christenberry, The Center of it All, Honorary Chair

We have launched The 1956 Society: A Legacy Society by the Alabama 4-H Foundation

The Alabama 4-H Foundation is excited to proudly announce the launch of their new giving society, The 1956 Society. The 1956 Society, named for the year in which the Foundation was founded, gratefully acknowledges benefactors whose estate gifts to Alabama 4-H show that the future of 4-H was close to their hearts. With a planned gift you will be welcomed into the 1956 Society.

Membership in this society is an outward display of your dedication to the thousands of youth who you impact each year.  Your generosity will literally and figuratively make a difference for Alabama 4-H.  Thank you for recognizing the need for giving back and continuing to be part of the 4-H family. It is our hope that you will consider a planned gift and becoming a member in the 1956 Society will continue to inspire you to be actively involved in the lives of Alabama 4-H youth.

“I had not been introduced to 4-H until I was employed by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System in  1977. Since that time, I have closely observed the programming side of 4-H, the financing side of 4-H, and  most importantly, the life changing results experienced by the young people who participate. I have seen young people grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through their 4-H experiences. I want to personally feel that I have played at least some small part in seeing that growth continue for future 4-H’ers. My way of doing that is to create an estate gift specifically for that purpose.” - Dr. Thomas Elliot
